Day 4 -- Geronimo! - Katie
Day 4 of our adventures across the pond began with a stroll around Trafalgar Square (where mom recited several lines from various plays and movies like "her dress was so short you could see Trafalgar Square"), a famous landmark in London that memorializes a famous naval battle. There, we witnessed something relatively new since arriving in London...sunshine! We enjoyed a bit of it along with a street band gearing up, then on to the National Gallery. Something mom and I both found interesting is that all of these famous historical landmarks...the National Gallery, Westminster Abbey, etc, are visited by people all over the world, but they also serve as day field trips for the local primary schools. There were several adorable groups of young children filing neatly through the museum in their Harry Potter-esque school uniforms (minus the wands and robes, of course). Mom and I eavesdropped on segments of their lessons looking at various paintings, noticing the masterful way their...
